What it is
Think Cursor or Claude Code, but for your comps. AEPilot is a chat panel inside After Effects that
indexes the project, takes precise @ references and runs an agentic loop that inspects and changes
the project for you.
How it works
- Every change is previewed before it is applied, runs in an After Effects undo group and keeps an honest rollback state.
- It is BYOK first: your own keys, local endpoints, and full visibility into the context sent to the model.
- While the panel is open, it can serve Claude Code, Codex or Cursor as a local MCP server, so coding agents work in After Effects through the same tools, with a review step on every change.
Stack
A CEP 12 panel built with React, TypeScript and Vite, with an ExtendScript bridge to the host. Windows and After Effects 2026 come first.
